Founder, RupeeMath · Software Engineer & Personal Finance Enthusiast

I am a software engineer with over five years of experience building data-intensive web applications. Personal finance has been a parallel obsession — I started tracking my SIP investments and home loan EMIs in spreadsheets long before I had the idea to turn those spreadsheets into a public tool. My background in engineering meant I could verify every formula against RBI guidelines, SEBI regulations, and the Income Tax Act rather than copying numbers from other websites that are often outdated or wrong.

I built RupeeMath because I was frustrated with the tools available online — most either required registration, had intrusive ads that broke mid-calculation, or used last year's tax slabs. I wanted one clean, fast, India-specific calculator that just works. Every formula on this site is cross-referenced with primary sources: the RBI circular on EBLR linking for home loans, SEBI's mutual fund regulations, and the Finance Act for the latest tax slabs. When the Budget changes something, I update within 24 hours.

I am not a SEBI-registered investment advisor or a Chartered Accountant — RupeeMath is an engineering project, not a financial advisory service. The calculators give you the same numbers a CA or bank officer would compute, but the interpretation of those numbers for your specific situation should always involve a qualified professional. I am very open about this limitation, and I have built the disclaimer prominently into every page.

I am based in India, I pay taxes under both the old and new regime depending on the year, I have a home loan, a few SIPs running, and an FD I keep for emergencies. I built and use every calculator on this site for my own financial planning. That is the experience behind RupeeMath — not a finance degree, but years of personally navigating the same decisions you are using these tools for.

What is RupeeMath?

RupeeMath is an online financial tool platform built for the Indian market. Unlike generic calculators that use US or European financial standards, every tool on RupeeMath is calibrated for Indian rules — the correct income tax slabs updated for Budget 2024, the FOIR (Fixed Obligation to Income Ratio) method used by Indian banks, quarterly compounding for Recurring Deposits, and the 15G/15H rules for FD interest. We currently offer 13 calculators across three categories: Investment, Loans, and Tax & Salary.

All calculators run entirely on your device. No data you enter is ever transmitted to our servers — your income, loan amount, and investment details remain completely private. This is a deliberate design choice, not just a feature.

Our Mission

Financial literacy in India is growing rapidly, but most online calculators are either cluttered with ads, demand a login, or give inaccurate results because they use outdated tax slabs or wrong compounding methods. RupeeMath was built to fix exactly that. We focus on three things above all else: correct math, clean design, and India-specific accuracy. Every formula is cross-checked against SEBI, RBI, and Income Tax Act guidelines. If we find an error, we fix it within 24 hours.

Why I Built RupeeMath

The idea for RupeeMath came from a simple frustration: every time I wanted to quickly calculate an EMI, compare tax regimes, or estimate SIP returns, existing tools either required signing up, showed irrelevant ads mid-calculation, or gave wrong answers. One popular calculator I found was still using last year's tax slabs four months into the new financial year. I wanted one place — fast, clean, accurate, and free — where any Indian could calculate anything financial in under 30 seconds. That is exactly what I built.

I also believe that access to financial information should not be paywalled. The same calculations that wealth managers charge consultation fees for are available here for free, to everyone, on any device.
